Conservatory of Flowers - Golden Gate Park
San Francisco, CA

The Conservatory of Flowers, constructed in 1878, is the oldest building in San Francisco Golden Gate Park. It is also one of the first municipal conservatories constructed and the oldest municipal wooden conservatory remaining in the country. It houses an important collection of exotic plants. In the winter of 1995 and 1996, a series of large storms nearly destroyed the wooden structure closing the Conservatory.

As part of a joint effort to restore and rehabilitate the historical landmark, Joseph Chow & Associates, Inc. worked with the San Francisco Department of Public Works to survey and study the existing condition of water-damaged structure of the Conservatory.
