USDA, Forest Service - Institute of Forest Genetics Mirov Lab Renovation
Placerville, CA

This project was to design the renovation and seismic upgrade for the Institute of Forest Genetics Mirov Laboratory. The building is the historical landmark of Placerville. We carefully studied and preserved the historical features of the building throughout the design and construction process. Our scope of work provided the design and engineering for the repair of the existing research facility including selective demolition, roof replacement, installation of new walls, windows, doors, interior improvements, seismic upgrade, accessibility upgrades, and construction administration and inspection.

We also coordinated with the engineering team to install new mechanical, plumbing, electrical, life safety systems, and laboratory services. Our scope of work also included design-build fire sprinkler system on the lower level, and the west wing of the main level.
