San Francisco Public Library Renovation, Park Branch
San Francisco, CA
Joseph Chow and Associates, in a partnership with Field Paoli Architects, have been commissioned to rehabilitate, update and improve the existing Park Branch Library. Located on the south side of San Francisco’s ‘Pan Handle’ near the Haight/Ashbury neighborhood, the Park branch is a cherished part of the urban fabric.
The project scope is generally to preserve the historic character while updating the building’s outdated systems and improving the overall usability. These upgrades include the restoration of the existing furniture and shelving, replacement of mechanical and electrical system, increased capacity of computer and technological access, restroom improvements and more flexible and functional plan layouts for staff and patrons while creating greater energy efficiency. The Park Library was awarded LEED Gold certification.
