RFP for New Navy Dining Facilities, Chappo

This project constructs a dining facility with dining and serving areas for permanent personnel including mess decks, galley, scullery, administrative offices, storage, restrooms, mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications rooms. Built in equipment includes but is not limited to freezers, chill boxes, food service equipment, fire suppression systems, food islands, dining booths, as well as fast food windows.
The existing dining facility, Building 22186 located at Chappo, 22 Area, supports 1,733 occupants. The facility was built in 1952 and is old, deteriorating and does not meet current code requirements for seismic, fire protection, energy efficiency, food handling, serving and dining operations. The mechanical systems malfunction frequently.
This project will be executed to support Sustainable Design strategies utilizing USGBC LEED Gold standards.
